Student Technical Crew
Partial and full scholarships are available! We never want finances to be a hindrance to your student's participation. If a scholarship would bless your family,
please fill out an application.
Student Technical Crew
Each one of our productions is made possible by our incredible technical crew. If your student would rather serve backstage than perform center stage, this crew is the perfect place for them. Working alongside our Technical Director and Stage Manager, they will be responsible for bringing the show to life.
They can choose to learn more about any aspect of technical theatre (stage management, costumes, set, lights, sound, makeup, etc.) and be as involved in the process as they would like.

You can register your 8th-12th grade student for a particular show's technical crew with the registration links above.
Thanks to our amazing church partners, we are excited to have our program calendar set so early in the year. Dates and performance locations are entirely locked down. For most programs, we will be at Grace Bible Church on weeknights and Redeemer Bible Church on weekends and for auditions.
Masterclass dress rehearsals and performances will take place at Redeemer Bible Church. All rehearsals and performances for Charlie Brown will occur at Redeemer Bible Church. Tech/Dress rehearsals and performances for Wizard of Oz and Seussical will either take place at Springcreek Church or Redeemer Bible Church depending on cast size.
Audition Information
Prepare
The initial audition consists of a:
-
Monologue (30-60 seconds)
-
Song (30-60 seconds)

These pieces are performed one-at-a-time in 10 minute time slots for the directors. We always suggest choosing pieces that reflect the type of character they would like to play. We suggest avoiding songs or monologues from the show they are auditioning for (this is a good rule for auditions in general). The directors will see enough of the show’s content in callbacks. Most importantly, choose something that your student feels comfortable performing! They will always make bigger choices and perform their best when they are comfortable with the content.
Bring
We need students to bring a few things to their initial audition:
-
A completed copy of the audition form.
-
Printed headshot with name and grade on the back.
-
If your student's song requires music, send the link for the track to auditions@brightlightstheatre.org with the subject: "NAME - Track for SHOW Audition." Youtube is a great place to find instrumental tracks for your student to use.
Belong
Everyone who auditions for a Bright Lights production will be cast.

Callbacks are the second part of the audition process and help the directors place students in the right role for them. Most of the cast will be called for a dance callback. They will learn a combination and perform it for the choreographer in groups.

Some students might be called back for specific roles. During this time students may be asked to sing a song from the show or cold-read a scene with other students. The goal is to make big choices and have fun showing the directors all they can do!
